Day 2 - Hanoi - Transfer to Ha Giang
In the morning
At 08:00, begin your adventure with a pickup from the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter.
Embark on a scenic drive through the picturesque Red River Delta, passing through Viet Tri and Tuyen Quang.
Arrive in Tuyen Quang, a charming town famed for its rolling emerald tea plantations. Here, we’ll indulge in a delicious, authentic local lunch at one of the area's finest eateries.
In the afternoon
Continue our journey into the breathtaking landscapes of Ha Giang. Along the way, you'll be captivated by a breathtaking panorama of gently rolling hills, serene villages, and vibrant rice paddies adorned with graceful palm trees.
Stop en route to visit a village of black Tay ethnic people.
Arrive in Ha Giang town in the late afternoon. You'll take a rest after a long journey.
Day 3 - Ha Giang - Dong Van
In the morning
Wake up early to catch the breathtaking sunrise over the majestic mountains.
Enjoy a hearty breakfast to fuel up for the day’s adventures.
First stop: Quan Ba Heaven’s Gate – a stunning viewpoint where you can admire panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including the famous Twin Fairy Mountains, a symbol of Ha Giang. This is an excellent spot for taking scenic photos.
Continue the journey along winding roads, passing lush valleys and picturesque terraced rice fields.
Stop for lunch in Tam Son, a charming mountain town, and savor some delicious local specialties.
In the afternoon
Visit the Hmong King’s Palace (Vuong Palace) – an impressive historical mansion that once belonged to the powerful Vuong family. The architecture is a fascinating blend of Chinese, French, and Hmong influences, offering insight into the region’s rich history.
Resume the journey, taking in the awe-inspiring landscapes of the Dong Van Karst Plateau.
Arrive in Dong Van around 18:00, check into your hotel, and take a short rest.
In the evening
Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, where you can taste authentic regional dishes such as thang co (Hmong-style horse stew), grilled mountain pork, and steamed rice rolls with bone broth.
Free time in the evening to explore Dong Van Old Quarter, enjoy a cup of traditional coffee, or experience local cultural activities if visiting on a weekend.

ITINERARY

Day 1 - Hanoi Arrival
Welcome to Vietnam: after long time on airplane, you will reach Vietnam – the S-shaped land, where 54 different ethnic minorities inhabited.

You will be warmly welcomed by our guide and driver at the airport and transferred to your hotel in the city center of Hanoi.
Free time for for your own exploration and shopping in the Old Quarter.
Day 4 - Dong Van - Meo Vac - Ba Be
In the morning
Start your day with a hearty breakfast at your hotel
Begin the journey towards Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of Vietnam’s most spectacular mountain roads. The 20 km-long pass, perched at 1,200 meters above sea level, offers stunning panoramic views of rugged mountains and deep valleys.
Make a stop at Mã Pì Lèng Skywalk, a scenic walking path along the cliffs that provides the best aerial views of the landscape. This is an ideal spot for capturing breathtaking photos of the vast limestone karsts and winding Nho Que River below.
Descend to Nho Que River and embark on a boat tour through Tu San Canyon, the deepest canyon in Southeast Asia. The emerald-green waters and towering limestone cliffs create an unforgettable, picture-perfect experience.
Optional: For the more adventurous, kayaking on the calm waters of Nho Que is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in nature.
Arrive in Meo Vac Valley, where you’ll indulge in a delicious lunch featuring authentic local delicacies. This is a wonderful chance to savor the flavors of the highlands and connect with the rich traditions of the region.
In the afternoon
Travel from Meo Vac to Ba Be National Park, following a scenic but less demanding route via Bac Me.
Arrive at Ba Be in the evening for a ecolodge check-in.

Day 5 - Ba Be Lake - Cao Bang
In the morning
07:00 – Start your day with a hearty breakfast at your lakeside accommodation, surrounded by the peaceful morning mist over Ba Be National Park.
Board a traditional wooden boat for a scenic cruise on Ba Be Lake, Vietnam’s largest natural freshwater lake. Glide through the emerald waters, passing by towering limestone cliffs, lush rainforests, and hidden caves.
Visit the Dau Dang Waterfall, a stunning cascade nestled deep in the jungle. The sight and sound of the rushing water against mossy rocks create a mesmerizing scene.
Make a stop at a Tay ethnic minority village, where you can immerse yourself in their traditional stilt houses, learn about their customs, and witness their peaceful way of life.
At noon time, you'll enjoy a local lunch in the village, savoring authentic Northern Vietnamese cuisine
In the afternoon
Depart for Cao Bang, a scenic drive through winding mountain roads, lush valleys, and serene countryside. Along the way, admire the changing landscapes and observe the daily life of ethnic minority communities.
Arrive in Cao Bang and check in at your hotel. Take some time to relax after the journey.
Day 6 - Ban Gioc waterfall – Nguom Ngao cave – Phong Nam Valley – Cao Bang

In the morning
08:00: You will have breakfast with a special local dish then visit the local market to experience the authentic activities of the people here.
After that, you will visit Ban Gioc Pagoda, You will climb left to the hillside Phat Tich Truc Lam to get a panorama view of the whole area around and especially get a view of Ban Gioc waterfall from high.
Then, you will be transferred to Ban Gioc Waterfall one of Vietnam’s most impressive natural sights, the falls are 30 meters high and 300 meters across, making Ban Gioc the widest waterfall in the country. The falls occur on the Quay Son River, a beautiful jade-blue body of water flowing from China through a pastoral landscape of rice fields and bamboo groves surrounded by limestone pinnacles.
You have a chance to get on the bamboo boat to get close enough to the waterfall so you can feel the spray on your face
Get back to the resort for lunch
In the afternoon
At noon time, you will visit Nguom Ngao Cave. You will be amazed at strangely shaped stalactites. Nguom Ngao is home to multiple limestone chambers, floors, stairs, and corridors in various sizes, along with stalactites and stalagmites in diverse shapes such as a coral reef, a ship, a waterfall, an overturned lotus flower, and a terraced field. All give this cave magnificent and fantastic beauty.
Nearby is Khuoi Ky ancient stone village. The road leading to the village is paved with cobblestone. The village is currently home to 16 Tay ethnic households and 14 stone-built houses on stilts, which were constructed in the 16th century.The houses in the village are surrounded by stone fences, which have existed for hundreds of years.. The custom of building stone houses comes from the Tay people's belief in the worshipping of the Stone God. They believe that the Stone God has strong natural powers that can protect them and bless them with a peaceful life.
The nest site is Phong Nam valley and Dam Thuy suspension bridge in Quay son River. This river, with rice fields and high jungle mountains on either side of the valley is giving the area a feeling like you are driving through a fairy tail. You will trek to the village to explore the local life in the border area.
At 17:00, you will be transferred to hotel and have free time on your own
Day 7 - Cao Bang – Back to Hanoi – Free & Easy
In the morning
At 08:00, our guide and driver will meet you at your hotel then you start transferring to Hanoi
You will have lunch in a local restaurant
In the afternoon
Reach a hotel in Hanoi, check in hotel and have free time on your own
Day 8 - Hanoi Departure
Depending on your flight time, our driver will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to the airport for your departure flight.
